Loose News is Melbourne’s newest live sketch comedy show, you won’t want to miss!

“Loose News” is your weekly comedy show, taking place at The Butterfly Club, in the format of a news program. Each segment is a comedy sketch, so we use the term “news”… loosely!

Short and sweet description

Think “News breakfast” meets “Anchorman”. This is a one hour show that utilises the format of a TV news program, but each segment is a comedy sketch, leveraging stories from reality to provide an insightful and funny take on modern life.

Stage design

Stage set up as a news broadcasting set with the anchors fixed on one side of the stage and the different correspondents swapping on the other side.

Small cast (2 anchors and 3 correspondents) 55 minutes long, with no interval

Weekly show: the format stays the same, but the content of each segment changes every week – just like a news program does.

The segments include weather, infomercial, sport, traffic, fashion, finance and so forth!

This show is part of The Butterfly Club’s Friday night program, starting from Friday Sept 6th, 2024, at 8.30PM, and will run until the end of 2024.
