Why this project? Why now?
Infertility affects 1 in 6 couples in Australia, yet it remains a largely unspoken issue
due to stigma and fear of judgment. Melbourne, with its diverse community, is an
ideal setting for raising awareness around this topic. IVF provides a platform for open
dialogue, offering empathy and support. By tackling this sensitive subject, the project
fosters understanding and encourages shared experiences, helping to break the silence
surrounding infertility. All residents will benefit from a space to explore these
struggles and find community support, fostering connection and reducing isolation.
